The one that you just cant find!!!

"THATS IT I GIVE UP...............I mean it this time we are NOT trying again"  I heard from behind a hedge.

Is it just us or are there caches out there that you just cant find??? But other people are saying nice easy find?!?!? Whats that about its like they are taunting us!!!!

In our very local park there are 3 new caches popped up, so off we went, one we got on the way to work the other two we deiced to use the pups as a excuse to be routing  around  and we will collect the caches on the way past.

Or so we thought!!!

We have looked on 3 sepearte occassions for one of them! It supposed to be in the corner of a hedge, well we have looked and looked and looked some more. We were all for putting a "not found" post on the site when someone posted a "found" log. Well off we went AGAIN Kay on one side me on the other routing in leaves for the cache, Kay was all for shaking the last leaves off the hedge if it was not for the park gardeners looking at us!

Well we still have not found it but tommorow is D-Day, if we do not find it we will never look again! I mean it the time!!!

Once more into the breach.....

All last winter we talked about how much geocaching we were going to do over the summer, and oh how much more fun we were going to have!

Well......Summer is officially over and I don't think we did 1 single cache, not 1!!!

The weather turned and off we went caching, successfully finding our fist cache!!

The only difference between last year and this is that we have welcomed 2 little helpers....Hugh and Holly our geocaching puppies who love nothing more than digging in bushes for that all important find!

Say hello to Hugh and Holly...

They are 18 weeks old and are Dachshund cross Jack Russell's, Hugh is a typical sausage dog but Holly is my little odd ball!!!

For now they are just beginning but we will keep you updated about their escapades as there are bound to be some

Take care caching ......

Finally have this sussed!!!

ok so when we started we were no prepared, we spent ages getting frustrated because we could not find the cache only later to find we were looking in the worng area. We would find a cache and then rember that we had nothing to put in the cache or had no pen or tweezers!

Well not any more!

We know have a Geoing bag, which is always packed and ready to go. We spend longer on the site looking at the location and understanding the hint more! it has only took us 40 finds and countless no finds to susses this out!

So after looking on sunday morning we decided to go out caching in frodsham. A buitiful little town/village with lots and lots of caches, most of which are in sets.

We planned to complete the Cludo and bridges serise, so we collected the bag and off we went. We planned to complete 15 and completed 11. With one not found, one distroied, one muggled and the other two we were just too cold for!

We did complete the Bridges of Frodsham serise which was fun and we got most of the Cludo caches we just ran out of time, light and heat! But they will be for another day!

Untill then...

Caching in Formby

So we are starting to get the hang of this caching thing! he he he What we mean is that we are finally getting organised and starting to get good!!

We have time off, the first time in forever and the first thing that pops in to our heads is Geocahing! the only question is where??? the conversation goes:
local ones we have not done?? theres still a few??
No we can do them any time!
I know lets head to the beach,
Yeah the beach!!! but which one?? Hoylake, west kirby?
No we always go there.... I know Formby!!!!
Where??
Come on I'll show you!

So we pack a bag: towel, loo roll (many uses) pen's (one will always run out!), paper (in case we need to make any notes), sandwich bags (just in case, you never no!) Things to put in a cahce, a camera (always need pictures) and lunch.

And off we go....

We had a lovely day only found 3 of 4 but still thats 3! the first one was cool, we were walking around a field with the phone going "this way... no that way... no back the other way.." until kay told me to put the phone away and come over here!
Kay with the cache!
Then we had a no find again we spent 30 mins looking like crazy people but hay at least we were having fun!

We then went for a walk on the beach and, obviously, collected shells. Then up and over the sand dunes, in my case I came down on my bum!
Leanne after she had fell on her bum AGAIN!

then on the way back to the car we popped off the track to find another: THE COOLEST CACHE EVER!!!

To log this cache you had to come up with a story of how you found this story, well we included pirates, but the best bit was reading all the other stories!

Then it was off home for a cup of tea!

Woolton village on a sunday afternoon ....

We decided that we would go geocaching last Sunday we worked our way from our house and thought we would see where we ended up... Woolton Village

Our first one of the day was a first for the hider! Great little cache, put us on a good mood for the day!

Leanne logging the find

We had great fun looking for the one at Halewood station!! Be debate about which side of the road...this side no this side no this side... while looking like a odd preson with all those muggles about, on a Sunday!
In the end we found it:
Leanne logging the cache
Alas we were full of false hope! Hunts cross station was no luck!!! After much discussion we gave up!
The one at Tescos was fun. We pulled up and knew exacly where it was, but right by the cache was a car with a woman and kids in so we dicided to go and have a walk around Tescos.  20 minets later the car was gone and it was time to act a little suspicious!! Kay was great stright in to the cache, little ooh Ive dropped something and the cache was ours! Due to the fact we already looked odd we thought pictures were out of the question!  A couple of quick movemnts and th cache was back, and off we were...To the pond

Yes parking in a pond, quiet an odd feeling! There is supposed to be a cache around the pond, but after an hour we were no closer to locating it and more likely to be arreted for looking like we were up to no good! he he he

On the way to the next cache we found a out of place animal:

The next cache is our favorat to date!

Being HUGH Beatles fans we were over excited to go visiting the resting place of Eleanor Rigby! Off we went up to St Peters Curch:

Then we found Eleanor:

And 2 in front in a father called McKenzie!! Well just when we were taking pictures the church alarms starts going off, and  a woman walks out of the church, so we do out good deed and call the caretaker! While we were waiting we went off to find the cache. (Everything was ok with the church!)

On the way back to the car we poped to the church hall to see the plaque of where John meet Paul!

Think what you will but I like to think that while John and Paul were sat in the grave yard writting songs they picked up on the name of Eleanor Rigby and Father McKenzie and when it came to writting the song they remebered those names from all that time ago!

The First Cache

So for weeks we had kept visiting the geocahe site, looking at different cache sites, saying ooh look theres one there and ooh one there, we even downloaded the free app (for the iphone). Then one day after a slightly bad day we were going for a walk in the local park (victoria park) and thought "ehat the heck lets try it"!  and thats where we began....

The first cache:  http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=331f4983-fb86-4c4c-ac77-2100e6bd0e90 AKA Squirreled away, was fun hidden is the small wooded area, it was great and we were hucked!!!

The next cache we done on the same day http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=eaa7b673-c557-45c5-b471-8d15f6a94632 AKA Appelton garden. Well we looked and look but it was not there we tried a few times but NO not there, turns out the area had been worked y the gardeners and it was a gona!

So the adventure continues ...
